EVENTS MARKETING
Trade show planning and execution are a huge part of my marketing skillset, including sponsorship negotiation, promotional materials, booth design, and build out for major technology and gaming industry events including GDC, Casual Connect, VentureBeat events, and others.
Coordinated content for speaking opportunities, wrangling panelists, it’s all in my wheelhouse. There’s nothing more affirming that your company is on the right track that a successful VIP client retreat either.
In addition, I've helped plan office parties, internal events, and small networking gatherings. You can see some examples below.
PGC London 2023
Guiding Digital Turbine’s global events strategy was a wonderfully enriching experience, and PGC London 2023 was a great and rewarding final event with team members across marketing, product marketing, multiple sales teams, and other groups. I led planning for this event and managed the strategy and overall narrative, and contributed to the overall content of the booth, swag, and 5 speaking and panel sessions and a pre-event speaker spotlight.
PGC is a keystone event for Digital Turbine’s publishing and performance strategy, and I negotiated a large, global-level package that included multiple events including Seattle, Toronto, Tel Aviv, London, and Helsinki, at a great deal the benefitted both parties.
New DT Brand Launches
After acquiring AdColony and Fyber in 2021, we embarked on a full rebrand, creating a need to bridge relationships with AdColony and DT. Working with my events team, we ideated brand launches for major brand cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Istanbul. Settling on a “The Future is Bright with DT” theme, these custom, exclusive client events had a loop introducing the full suite of DT products, and premium designer sunglasses and other swag, inviting attendees to tell us how their future was bright!
Ceros pages were also created to give an extra special feel to invites sent by the sales teams and ensure strong attendance.
Mobile Apps Unlocked 2021
MAU 2021 was the first event I ran for Digital Turbine with the unified events team from the AdColony, Fyber, and legacy DT. Recognizing previous experience and contacts from the team members allowed us to organize a full session, the most talked about booth and swag (with flavored margaritas!), and a poolside cabana for meetings.
The event was a massive success and demonstrated my leadership in taking on new employees and succeeding with them, in addition to my personal hires.
Supernova VIP Events
AdColony Supernova was a global mobile advertising summit, with conversation and panel tracks for user acquisition and monetization. Making the Supernova Summit a success after 3 years of false starts by previous marketing leaders was a huge success and both the 2018 and 2019 events drove success for both ends of the business.
You can view the Ceros invite for the Supernova Summit 2018 here.
At Digital Turbine, I worked with my events team and contractors to evolve the industry reputation of Supernova into the AppCelerate series of events, which started small with an exclusive breakfast in London in February 2023.
GDC Shows
Held in San Francisco, from 2015 through the cancelled 2020, I managed all aspects of the GDC shows with my events team, including a $250,000 budget proposal, booth the booth RFP process, coffee vendor selection, design of the booth, managing construction on the week of the event, and coordinated joint mixers with other Yvolver and AdColony partners.
ChinaJoy 2018
As an important part of AdColony’s global growth, I worked with my Beijing-based marketing specialist to secure space and build a booth and partner with Cocos 2DX for a premiere mixer. ChinaJoy is one of the largest gaming events in Asia, attracting game developers, publishers, and enthusiasts from around the world.
With partnerships in China separated from global agreements, the commercial teams were able to successfully raise awareness of AdColony in the local market and conduct hundreds of meetings over the course of the show.
I was lucky enough to visit during the show itself and meet members of the team I had never met before, including AdColony’s Korean and Japanese teams, removing many roadblocks and acceleration marketing efforts in the following year.
Casual Connect 2017
Held in Seattle, Washington, working with our new events manager, I planned and managed the booth design, vendor, and our joint party at the Seattle Aquarium. I led from the front and took on a lot of this event personally, creating the logo design for the party, as well as the swag and invitations. This smaller-scale event came in under $75,000.
